Welcome to the A.A. General Service website for Anoka County District 13. The primary purpose of this website is to facilitate communication within District 13 and between District 13 and A.A. members.
District 13’s purpose is to provide an arena where A.A. members and A.A. groups work together on service opportunities to effectively carry the message to the still suffering alcoholic as we believe participation in general service work allows us to express gratitude for our recovery.
Bill W. wrote in Concept I that “The A.A. groups today hold ultimate responsibility and final authority for our world services.”
The General Service Representative (G.S.R.) is the link between the A.A. group and A.A. as a whole. Our service structure is the framework in which our “general services” are carried out. It is an inverted pyramid that begins at the group level, then goes to the District level and the Area level, before moving on to the national level at the General Service Conference. This service structure ensures that the full voice of A.A. will be heard.
All members of Alcoholics Anonymous are welcome at district meetings, but electing a G.S.R. to attend ensures that your group can make its concerns and suggestions known.
Please join us the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. at the Coon Rapids United Methodist Church located at 10506 Hanson Blvd, Coon Rapids, Minnesota.
